Lusail Stadium is the largest stadium in Qatar and will be used to host the final game of the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The stadium is located just to the north of the capital city of Doha and was one of the stadiums that was converted for the World Cup.
The conversion actually began way back in 2014. It will be cooled using only solar power, giving it a zero carbon footprint. After the World Cup is over, roughly half of its seats will be removed, with the parts being re-used for community spaces that will have a health clinic, athletic facilities, shops and cafes.
As the largest stadium in Qatar, Lusail Stadium will host 10 matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, including the final.
It starts in the group stage with Argentina vs. Saudi Arabia (Group C) on November 22, followed by Brazil vs. Serbia (Group G) on November 24, Argentina vs. Mexico (Group C) on November 26, Portugal vs. Uruguay (Group H) on November 28, Saudi Arabia vs. Mexico (Group C) on November 30, and Cameroon vs. Brazil (Group G) on December 2.
It will host a Round of 16 match between the winners of Group H and the runners-up of Group G on December 6, as well as a quarterfinals match on December 9, a semifinals match on December 13, and lastly, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final on December 18.
