Located in Al Khor, Al Bayt Stadium is one of the main stadiums that will be used in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In fact, it will host the opening match of the World Cup this year.
The stadium has a retractable roof, which will help provide a more comfortable playing atmosphere in the hot Qatar weather. It will host 60,000 fans at the World Cup.
Al Bayt Stadium is unique in its design. It is inspired from traditional tents of nomadic people in the region. It was converted for the World Cup and is the second-largest stadium in the country.
Al Bayt Stadium will host nine matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, including the opening match and one of the semifinal matches.
It all gets started with Qatar vs. Ecuador in Group A action on November 20. The stadium will also host Morocco vs. Croatia (Group F) on November 23, United States vs. England (Group B) on November 25, Spain vs. Germany (Group E) on November 27, Netherlands vs. Qatar (Group A) on November 29, and Costa Rica vs. Germany (Group E) on December 1.
After the Group Stage, Al Bayt Stadium will host a Round of 16 match between the winner of Group B and the runners-up of Group A on December 4, a quarterfinals match on December 10, and a semifinals match on December 14.
