Al Thurmama Stadium, located in Al Thurmama, is one of the stadiums that will be in use for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. It was built specifically for the World Cup, and will have a capacity of 40,000.
The inspiration behind the architectural design of the stadium was a traditional taqiyah hat. After the World Cup is over, half of the seats in Al Thurmama Stadium will be removed and donated to other countries.
Al Thurmama Stadium will be the host for eight matches for the FIFA World Cup in 2022, including one Round of 16 and one quarterfinals match.
The action will get started in group play with Senegal vs. Netherlands (Group A) on November 21, Spain vs. Costa Rica (Group E) on November 23, Qatar vs. Senegal (Group A) on November 25, Belgium vs. Morocco (Group F) on November 27, Iran vs. United States (Group B) on November 29, and Canada vs. Morocco (Group F) on December 1.
The stadium will host a Round of 16 match on December 4 between the winners of Group D and the runners-up of Group C. It will also host a quarterfinals match on December 10.
