The 2022 FIFA World Cup is right around the corner, with the first match being held on November 21. This World Cup will be the first one to be held in an Arab nation, as it’s being hosted in Qatar. It will also mark just the second World Cup to ever be held exclusively in Asia, held in 2002 in Japan and South Korea.

The FIFA 2022 World Cup will be the last one that will feature 32 teams.

The 32 qualifying teams are split into eight groups of four. Each group will play a round-robin tournament, where each team will play every other team within the group. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage of the tournament.

World Cup 2022 Dates

The World Cup is typically held in June and July, but the World Cup Qatar 2022 was moved to November and December due to the intense heat that the country experiences throughout the summer months.

This is one of the more unique aspects to the FIFA World Cup 2022. The updated schedule will cause some European leagues to adjust their schedule this year, as they normally take an extended break during the summertime. For other leagues such as Major League Soccer in North America, the delayed start to the 2022 World Cup will actually be beneficial, since it will be during their offseason.

One of the other unique aspects to the 2022 World Cup Qatar is the fact that the dates and times for each of the matches was not set prior to the official draw being made. This is because of the size of the host country.

Since Qatar is smaller than most other countries that have hosted the FIFA World Cup in the past, organizers were able to wait until after the draw was completed to set the dates and times of all matches for the group stage.

The World Cup 2022 will be held in November and December this year. The first match will kick off on November 21 at 11:00 and will feature the host nation Qatar vs. Ecuador in Group A.

All Group matches for the World Cup 2022 have been set. The official draw was made on April 1, which determined the Groups for each nation. In this stage, each nation plays every other in its Group once in a round-robin-style tournament. After the Group stage is over, the Knockout stages will proceed, starting on December 3.

The final match of the FIFA World Cup is scheduled for December 18. It will be held at the Lusail Stadium. That stadium will also be the host venue for other matches throughout the tournament, including one semi-final match and one quarter-final match.
